Sellwood Antique Row

Sellwood Antique Row is the informal name for the dense strip of antique dealers, vintage shops, and consignment galleries that has lined SE Milwaukie Avenue between SE Bybee and SE Tacoma since the 1970s. The district grew organically out of the working-class Sellwood neighborhood's culture of thrift and preservation, gaining critical mass in 1990 when Stars Antiques Malls opened at 7027 SE Milwaukie Ave — a 30,000-square-foot mall-format operation with more than 300 dealers.

The antique row anchors a broader Sellwood-Moreland shopping culture that extends down adjacent SE 13th Avenue, where Sellwood Antique Mall (7875 SE 13th Ave), Sellwood Antique Collective (8027 SE 13th Ave), and The Antique Boutique (7908 SE 13th Ave) offer tens of thousands of additional square feet of curated vintage goods. The corridor is bookended to the north by Oaks Amusement Park — one of the oldest continuously operating amusement parks in the United States, open since 1905 — and to the south by the Milwaukie border.

Today Antique Row coexists with independent restaurants, coffee shops, and boutique retail along the Sellwood-Moreland Business District's two commercial corridors. The Record Pub at 6034 SE Milwaukie Ave serves vinyl alongside craft beer, exemplifying the neighborhood's eclectic, community-forward retail character. Pedestrian-friendly streetscaping, proximity to the Sellwood Bridge, and direct MAX Orange Line access at the South end have kept the corridor vital against national retail headwinds.
