Very shocking behavior. While the owner was there, everything was going great. I probably paid for 20/30 songs on the jukebox, other people were playing country songs, everything was going great. I play a huge range of music. Then the owner left, and a song that I "played for myself" I played a song, "I am a veteran with 80% disability for service," I played a song written by vets Creative Vets and song was called "They call me Doc" once the song started playing, I heard a gentleman at the end of the bar complaining about the song, with the knowledge of what the song was about. Then after the song was over , I commented to the bartender that I wasn't trying to offend anybody I played the song for myself and then she said something about HER being in a war. Which made zero sense, since she works at a bar in Portland. The Idea that the song about real vets being played by and for a real vet cause her to lash out and kick me out of the bar because she said "we are in the middle of fighting a war". Yes she asked me to leave. I asked "Are you serious?" She said yes. I said ok and walked out. So the bar changed soon as boss man left.

Bartender was great but mean people were mean to us because we didn't want to talk politics and tried to fight us and the bartender allowed it. Politics should not be talked about while drinking. Everyone is just trying to have a good time. This should be a policy. Everyone should feel safe to have a good time. I work here in the pearl, and I will be telling everybody.I know this place is not safe.

The absolute pinnacle of great dive bar-ness. Awesome owner, Kevin, working behind the bar. Great conversationalist, prices and vibe. Would recommend to anyone who loves a good, welcoming grungy pub with history.

Just a spectacular, working-class, people’s prices, proper bar in this high-end shopping district. Great staff, clean bar, no frills - you will have an awesome time. Highly recommended!

This is an eclectic place to go for drinks but the vibe made me feel so uncomfortable and uneasy at this bar. It wasn’t busy but the type of other customers there didn’t make me want to stay. They don’t serve food. The bartender was super friendly and the drink (Old Fashion) I had was strong but my friend and I had to leave soon after our visit. I just felt too uncomfortable to stay. It’s hard to explain but I have no desire to visit again.
