Skip the savory options here and go straight to dessert. In my experience, you can get a better quality food elsewhere at a similar pricepoint. Don't even waste your money on the bread and butter. I love bread and butter but this is just not that good, especially for the price. The Boccone Dolce is divine. It is the perfect dessert. I love Jazz Nights at Jo Bar with a slice of Boccone Dolce. The other desserts are hit or miss. The Lemon Chiffon Cake is a miss. The cake was dry and there was not enough lemon flavor. There was a strawberry-pistachio panna cotta on their seasonal menu a while back that was a definite hit. The coffee is good. They will make you a great espresso-macchiato if you ask for it.

We decided to head up to NW 23rd for a quick Sunday night dinner and were happily surprised to realize it was the first day of Portland Dining Month. We started with martinis and Old Fashioneds, shared a few appetizers, and then dove into our main courses and everything was fantastic. And of course, you really can’t top the dessert creations at Papa Haydn. They’re absolutely top-notch and the perfect way to end the evening.

Heavenly in every way. We enjoyed Salade Nicoise (oh so delicious, the salmon just so, bright acidic dressing, salty olives and almost sweet new potatoes.) Both the Cafe au Chocolat and Lemon Meringue Tart were beautiful, plentiful, and utterly delicious. The noise level here is not too loud for conversation while certainly lively with people. Sherrie Wolf artwork adorns the walls - amplifying the lusciousness of the food. Note: this is, understandably, a very popular restaurant. During the day plan to arrive at opening or be willing to wait for a table. For evenings, best to reserve a table.

This restaurant is a staple in Portland. They have two locations, this one in NW and another in SE. Both have amazing food and desserts, with quality ingredients. I've never had a subpar meal or dessert here. Parking can be tricky as it's mostly street parking and this area in NW is busy. There is a paid parking lot behind the restaurant, but it fills up fast, and can be hard to navigate with a full-size vehicle. I took a friend here to celebrate her birthday. I made reservations online through Open Table. We came on a Sunday around noon. We were seated as soon as we arrived. We were lucky enough to get a window table. It was perfect! The entrance can get a little congested because the host podium is located right inside the door. The decor inside has a nice and cozy vibe. Sunday mornings and afternoons they offer their brunch menu. There's a nice variety of breakfast and lunch options available. We each ordered the burger and fries. The burgers were cooked perfectly. The fries were nice and crispy on the outside, and not greasy at all. They only had ketchup for the fries, no ranch available. I just ordered a side of mayonnaise to mix with the ketchup. Our food came out timely and was the perfect temperature. For dessert, we ordered the raspberry gateau and lemon chiffon cake. They were both so decadent and delicious! We took half of both home. They are a little pricey. I spent $85 for our lunch, including a 20% tip. Seems pricey for lunch, especially when we didn't order drinks, just water. Our server was attentive, friendly and helpful. We really enjoyed our time here. I would highly recommend.
