I took my car there twice for insurance work. I noticed large pieces of paint flaking off my tailgate. I called and they said basically darn we only warranty for five years, you are on six so no warranty. I went in and they want to charge over $750 dollars. If they did not do the job correctly, I still have to pay! Go to another body shop who will do the job right and stand by their work.
In 2024 summer I received the worst paint job ever! It’s now December 2025 and I’m still sore about it. I can’t express how utterly disappointed I am with the paint job I received here. Even the salesman couldn’t hide his own disapproval and apologized poor quality including obvious paint application defects, drips, haze and orange peel. Even after painting it again it still had enough of all of the above to still be very disappointing. My 2011 Camaro RS was well cared for by me and the one previous owner but after 13 years and 99k easy miles it was starting to lose its charm. It still ran great and turned heads with its original paint but it was time to refresh the distinctive midnight blue and white stripes on the hood and truck. Honestly I should have sued these guys in small claims court and got at least $5k of the $6.5 k I ended up spending including taking it to a different shop to improve things a little bit. I wish I shopped around more and didn’t fall for the sales job. I recommend avoiding this shop especially if you have a nice vehicle you want to continue loving.
Fantastic experience getting a bumper ordered and painted through this Maaco shop. Even with a couple of challenges that came up along the way, they were transparent, communicative and eager to deliver the best possible outcome. Staff was friendly and solutions-based all of the way through. The work looks great. Shops that center “old school” customer service and connection really stand out in an increasingly transactional industry and these guys are the real deal. Schedule with confidence.
This paint shop is a family owned paint shop, They hire excellent talent, and I have had them paint four vehicles for me now. They always exceed my expectation and are always making little suggestions. Make the difference such as accent paint and things like that.
Matty and the team at Maaco North Portland are amazing! I came into possession of a 2008 Civic Coup with extreme peeling paint and sun damage. Matty was kind and professional when I went in for a quote to get the whole thing stripped and repainted. The quote matched the only other Portland shop that would do full body paint jobs, so I knew the price was right. They got my Civic in for the job in only 1.5 weeks and and it took 6 business days to complete. SO HAPPY WITH THE RESULTS! My neighbors did not believe it was the same Civic as before...they literally thought it was brand new. Thanks Maaco!
