I visited on Valentine’s Day, for which the bar had all day happy hour on oysters and champagne cocktails, as well as a drink special for the night. We ordered the drink special, a Portland 77, a half dozen oysters, and bread. Our food and drinks were great, but when we got our check only the bread was priced correctly. The oysters and cocktail were at their normal price, not the happy hour price, and the drink special was $2 more than advertised. We pointed this out to the server, who was unaware of the all day happy hour and told us he’d ’take some cash off’ our check. This turned out to be $5 off, while we were charged $11 more than the prices stated on the menu. I was disappointed that our server didn’t know the daily menu and didn’t make a good faith effort to correct our bill to reflect the prices printed on the menu.

More reviews on GoogleFirst time coming in and will be back again.. Josh the bartender was outstanding. Always making sure to check on everyone and making sure everything was up to par. Decor was top notch and I want a room in my house to have that same vibe. Cocktails and fries were really good and the cocktails are from the time
The Driftwood Room in the Hotel Deluxe is an old-school yet stylish, dark bar that plays groovy music and serves excellent craft cocktails. It’s a cozy joint that seats only about 15, but it’s one of the best hotel bars I’ve encountered. The typical hotel watering hole has decent base spirits but cuts corners with cheap liqueurs and mixers. The Driftwood Room, however, is a legit craft cocktail bar with knowledgeable, experienced mixologists. Street parking is catch-as-catch-can, but there’s a paid lot across the street. -VanPort Insider
A very Classy, Charming, Unique cocktail lounge located within the Hotel deLux. Recommended for datenight drinks. Limited seating and typically understaffed for the amount of attention it attracts on a typical Friday night, But the bartenders are sharp and swift. Food Update (2025): Drinks were fantastic, as always. Steak was mediocre at best. Mac&Cheese was subpar (unworthy of the lobster bits atop it). Portions and quality are adverse to the cost. Burger smelled better than it tasted. B+. Cheesecake was redeeming, but not enough to justify the overall cost of the meal. Several other guests agreed: better food within walking distance of the hotel.
Came here for dessert and drinks after dinner. Ended up getting both the shoestring fries as a snack and the skillet cookie as dessert. Both were wonderful! The cookie was hot, and very soft. It was a good salt level also, so it wasn't overly sweet. The fries were seasoned well and perfectly crispy. We got the Driftwood Sazerac (which they lit on fire briefly!) And the Germaine absinthe fountain. We enjoyed both our drinks, and Curtis gave us some awesome backstory/history of absinthe and the fountain style of serving. All 3 bartenders working were friendly and efficient. The atmosphere was moody and dark, darker than im used to in bars even, but in a great way. It felt suave and fun, a great spot for a date night or just a classy drink. It was pricey, but the experience was well worth it.
