Dr. Harvey is phenomenal! She has cared for dogs in my family for probably 15+ years. She truly cares about your animal and their humans. She makes a point to remember things about your family or your life so that each interaction feels genuine and personal. In the most difficult times that a pet owner can face, you can feel her empathy. She is a great partner to have in your pet's health routine, from puppyhood to end of life care. Highly recommend.

I adopted a new kitty with a strange, mystery bloated belly. Dr. Jawahir took great care and was extremely thorough in investigating Aoife’s belly issues. Turns out she is just fat, and has a weird little body! I appreciate the kindness and attention from all the staff at Powell Vet. The techs are fantastic, front desk is friendly and helpful, and Dr. Jawahir is going to see my cats hopefully for many years to come. Thanks to everyone who helped my beach ball bellied kitty!

Dr. Harvey is far and away the best veterinarian we’ve had in Portland. She’s kind and patient and genuinely cares about the animals in her care. She has always offered a variety of options to us depending on our budget when it comes to tests and treatments. I have a reactive dog and Dr. Harvey has been really great at getting him comfortable in her presence and making sure we don’t over-stress him during exams.

I'm highly disappointed. My first experience here was good and positive and helped my poor girl recover from medications from an ER vet that were making her symptoms worse. Gold star, thank you to the lovely Dr who helped my girl and didn't make me feel like an awful pet parent. Recently I began work again after a 3 month medical leave and my cat has been adjusting horribly. She made herself sick and as I explained multiple times over the phone and in person regarding my financial situation and what I know she needs, I was told NO payment plans (suggested I sign up for credit care) - The entire experience felt "well if you can't pay your cat will die and oh well." - All because of policy (what kind of vet does that??? Is that a Portland thing??) - then once at the exam, and again going over the issue, I felt pressured in giving her unnecessary tests that cost upwards of $800+. It was back and forth between me and the vet for an hour over hypothetical issues of signs she was not experiencing but "preventative". Never in my animal care life have I ever experienced anything like this from a vet. Maybe it's just where I'm from, but vets I've experienced in the past willingly help your pets and help make a payment plan if you can't fork over the hundreds or thousands of dollars that's requested. My previous vets, the pet comes first and worries about money later. The company feels more about making a quick buck and putting financial burdens on pet parents versus actually caring for the animal. No payment plans, no billing later, pay now or go elsewhere. She's doing much better now (thank goodness) but I won't be returning or recommending this place.

I’ve brought my special-needs dog here for years! She’s had several procedures here and a what seems like endless appointments. If prices are cheaper somewhere else, I’d still choose them. Dr. Flora is one of the best vets I’ve worked with from Oklahoma to Colorado and now to here in Oregon. I know people complain about the prices, but I’d spend 10x what I have to make sure my dog is safe and cared for like she is here.
