They have a great brunch. Love the roasted garlic soup and their specials are always worth checking out. Highly recommend the gilded mirror cocktail if you're a fan of whiskey. I've never had anything here that wasn't good.
Had family in town with their kiddos and we wanted to do a night out. OP was the perfect choice. The staff was great getting a spot set up that could handle a wheelchair, stroller and energetic 3yr old. They have a great cocktail and wine menu, but as the designated driver I stuck to the N/A drinks. Luckily they have one of my top 3 N/A cocktails- red ferrari (think negroni). The food was fantastic. I highly recommend starting with a meat and/or cheese plate (we did both) then do a Round 2 of small plates. For us it was a few salads. All were good but I especially liked the chicories salad with Caesar-like dressing. Next we grabbed entrees. It was hard to narrow down to one option so I ended up doing a split plate situation and shared the gnocchi and the chicken plate. The gnocchi was pillowy with a perfect amount of mushrooms and carmelized onions. The chicken thigh had crispy skin and the potatoes were smooth and buttery which paired nicely with the chard. Sadly, there was no space for dessert so I'm just dreaming of the Basque cheesecake, but guess that just means a return trip is needed.
Good place to pick up artisan meats and a solid meal. Great for families or date night!
It's certainly one of my favourite restaurants in the Portland area and beyond. This is the second time I am back and I am impressed again. Everything we ordered was delicious and my favourite is the octopus. It's definitely one of the best (if not the best) octopus I've eaten. The way it's prepared with the nut sauce just makes it burst with flavor, and the octopus is soft melt in your mouth. Definitely recommend this casual restaurant and yet with complex flavours. We ate everything and didn't leave a thing, it was that good.
Such a cool space—the high ceilings, bar ambiance and open dining area make for an excellent experience. Add the dedicated wait-staff and kitchen service, this place was awesome. Oysters were shucked well, courses timed perfectly, and exceptional cocktails. Can’t wait to come back.
