NOT THE FIRM YOU ARE LOOKING FOR I’m leaving this review for anyone considering Pacific Cascade Legal in Portland in hopes of saving money. In my experience, the firm’s billing structure is set up in a way that maximizes charges rather than value. You are billed for virtually everything: administrative fees, closing fees, and other add-ons that quickly accumulate. Attorney and paralegal times are charged aggressively, including for issues that should not reasonably be billed to a client, such as internal computer troubleshooting. Billing increments and time estimates feel inflated and unfair. For example, a very brief email can be billed as a significant fraction of an attorney’s hourly rate, with no practical way to dispute it. While the billing may be technically permissible, it feels designed to extract as much money as possible rather than provide efficient legal service. Proceed with caution if cost transparency and fairness matter to you.
