Unprofessional and Aggressive Handling of Lease Dispute My experience with Schnitzer Properties was deeply unprofessional. After properly surrendering a commercial lease—under terms accepted in writing—I received vague and unsupported claims of additional charges. I made multiple good-faith requests for documentation, including accounting for the security deposit, any repair invoices, and a breakdown of the charges being pursued. Rather than respond with transparency, I was met with dismissive and at times hostile communication from their collections manager, Timothy Wright. When I asked for verification of the debt—something any tenant has the right to—Timothy labeled my request as “performative” and refused to provide documentation unless I first committed to paying. Eventually, the matter was escalated to legal counsel without the basic accounting ever being delivered. This experience felt more like an attempt to intimidate than resolve, and I cannot recommend this company to any small business or tenant expecting transparency, professionalism, or basic fairness.

More reviews on GoogleThey allow slumlords to run their run down buildings. They think just because they're a millionaire family that they are above the law. If you want to know who's radicalizing Portland's renters, it's terrible people/places like this. Please know your rights and make sure that companies like Schnitzer, Colombia, Guardian, and GSL properties are made VERY CLEAR that working class folks are DONE TOLERATING BS. You want your city to get better? Do something about these abusive shitebirds! Check your leases very carefully, one of our friends stayed at Regency and noticed they put a non-disclosure clause in the lease, which is very illegal in Oregon. It can be forgiven when idiots from out of town try to pull this, but Schnitzer knows more than better. They absolutely know. The city knows, our lawyers know. They are full of nonsense and are dragging down the city with their gross negligence. It's absurd. Considering moving our business out of the city. Absolutely specifically because of Schnitzer and GSL properties. Absolutely disgusted.
Normally it would be a better review but they just showed their true colors, and surprise (!) they're nothing more than your stereotypical greedy, uncaring landlord. Yes I understand my rent was to increase in May but these are extraordinary times. My business income has dropped to zero and will be there for 3-6 months. I'm not paying myself anything, my staff have no work and we're doing everything we can to save the business. Yet Harsch just has to have their extra $75 a month. They can't put it off, can't offer anything. Just an email saying that it's due in May. The rich just don't have enough I guess. They have to have it all.
Our office was previously located at 8285 Southwest Nimbus Ave. in Beaverton, where we had been for over eight years. Our office was previously located at 8285 Southwest Nimbus Ave. in Beaverton, where we have been for over eight years. This location was previously managed by CBRE who was really great to work with. When the Harsch team took over, the CAM increased dramatically and the staff in the upper managment postions was extremely rude and painful to deal with. I began to think we were being personally targeted but in speaking with many of the other tentants I learned they also felt same. Harsch also refused to allow us, and many of our neighbors to renew our lease. For business owners like me, changing locations is a huge expense and completely disrupts operations. Just prior to moving out, our building (8285 SW Nimbus Ave) was like a ghost town. I would not recommend anyone moving their business to this location. In summary, extremely rude staff, high prices, bad customer service.
Kind of hard to like a place that employs property managers who embody every negative quality their federal and state-funded program dollars supposedly abhor. They'll put you out without a thought and leave disabled residents picking up the pieces... of their good name, rental history... and their sent-to-jail girlfriends trying to discern fact from fiction in a hellish Gigerian TBI oubliette. Do Not Want.
