If you check into your room and there are ear plugs on the night stand, that's a red flag. Room is extremely noisy due to proximity to a light rail station serving three different train lines. The rooms on the other side of the building cost extra. Called to ask for a change of room and was told that other rooms are, inexplicably, even noisier. Parking is valet only, $43 a night. Every surface of the bedroom area has a snack or a drink bottle on it for purchase. The amount of them feels really tacky and cheap. Service is solid, and proximity to downtown is fine. Just doesn't really feel like a place that's easy to sleep in, which is a basic requirement for a hotel. EDIT: The folks at the front desk were very understanding of the situation and while they weren't able to rebook me, they did try their best to make my stay more tolerable. For that I'm providing another star. Still, I believe that if a room is so noisy you need to proactively provide ear plugs, you probably shouldn't be offering that room for booking without better soundproofing.

More reviews on GoogleLet me preface this review with an explicit note that this hotel is noisy. Internal to rooms are very nice. Everything inside is up to date, clean, and well thought out. The hotel staff were all very pleasant, very helpful, and generally great to deal with. They were very accommodating when I showed up early, and already had my room ready for me. The location is good. Plenty of restaurants in reach, and it's a short drive to many of the busy market streets if you're looking to do any shopping. When I first got to my room, I did as I always do, and looked through everything. There's a Keurig machine, and several coffee pods available for free, and a mini bar and water all available for a fee. Pillows are all feature based, and very soft (not my thing, but for some this is a plus). One key thing I noticed was packs of earplugs on the nightstand. At first I figured it was thoughtful and unusual. Within an hour, I understood why earplugs were present. The windows in this hotel must be incredibly thin. You can hear everything. I was on the fourth floor and could hear the busy street below, and almost constant trains. It's so noisy that I had difficulty sleeping, and taking any calls from the room. If a truck drives by, you can hear them. Cars? You can hear everything. But the trains are all day and all night. Getting any rest here is difficult. It's for this reason that the rooms score so low. They're great looking, fully functional, modern, but I couldn't hear myself think when the trains rode by. Parking is valet only, and for a few as well. There is no self parking without a fee here. The cafe is pleasant, and the coffee is alright. Staff were very kind as well. Bottom line, if you want sleep, be very wary of staying here. It's loud, all day, and all night. My next trip to Portland I'll definitely stay elsewhere.
The rooms are clean, the beds are comfortable, safe parking and friendly staff. Ivan at the front desk was very understanding and compassionate with me when I was under extreme stress and dealing with a loved one in critical condition. I am very thankful for his willingness to listen and help when I needed it most. That is above and beyond excellent customer service. We will come back and stay again and will definitely recommend Eastlund Hotel as a great place to stay to all our friends and family! Thank you Ivan we appreciate you and hope to see you when we return in our near future.
Loved our family staycation here!!!! Right across from the Oregon convention center, so an easy walk to attend fun events and so much options of great food in the location! But really enjoyed the hotel onsite restaurant for both lunch and dinner! In the evening sitting around the fire pit, soaking in the city night view at this rooftop bar and restaurant was just so wonderful! The staff is all so friendly and the complementary charging for my electric vehicle through the valet service was just the best part of it all! Truly, who does that? My car was always charged full everyday for us to explore the city! Thank you Hotel Eastlund!!!!
I really enjoyed my stay this week! Super convenient to the convention center and the Max line to the airport. Staff was friendly, and they gave some great recommendations for restaurants. The staff at the cafe were also very kind, accommodating my dietary preferences. The rooms were unique and thoughtful. The little treats were appreciated and I loved the light system to request privacy or housekeeping- so much better than a door hanger that falls off! It was my first time and I would absolutely stay there again for a conference!
