Rooms are clean and bed is comfortable. Every morning I stayed here I was woken up early from the noise outside. So, if you are a light sleeper, I don't recommend. Good happy hour deals!

More reviews on GoogleThe crown plaza is in a fantastic location. It gets you right down the street from so many different locations that are a must see in Portland. The staff were very friendly and helpful and it was a very comfortable stay. I felt like I was at home away from home. I'd recommend this hotel to anyone
TL;DR: Very expensive, no free breakfast, paid parking, poor maintenance and service; a few nice amenities, but not worth the cost even with a decent location. Overall, this hotel is quite expensive for what it offers—about $500 for two nights in a 2 queen room (Friday and Saturday). Free breakfast is not included, and parking costs an additional $27 per night, which significantly increases the total cost. The elevators also state quite an expensive a la carte menu, with a $6 dollar muffin and a $6 dollar 8 oz regular coffee. The free breakfast in question is in their restaraunt and not a free breakfast buffet. The service was poor. I called room service to fix the shower, but after waiting over 30 minutes, no one showed up. The thermostat is broken and resets to 70 degrees after a few seconds. The air vent is also broken, and the key card reader only works after several attempts. The beds are unusually high and uncomfortable to get in and out of. Positives: There are plenty of outlets, including USB ports. The gym is decent, and the pool is okay with a decent location in Downtown Portland. Overall, the price does not match the quality of service or room condition. I compared prices to other hotels around Downtown Portland and I don't know why I picked this hotel as it is ~20% more expensive than other hotels around this area.
Location was great, my gf and I came for an event at Moda and we were super pleased with the walkability to Moda and other locations nearby. The room we stayed was nice, clean, and had a great view of the cool homeless encampment out back. Bathroom was clean and inviting and the use of Apotheke toiletries was a delight surprise. Service at the front desk was nice and inviting. Service in the restaurant needs a lot of work. First of all, for regular guests there should be either a buffet or upgrade for included breakfast. Instead they rely on a serving staff like in a restaurant setting. They were understaffed yes but the service itself felt unprofessional and had no sense of urgency. From the time we ordered a couple eggs and a bowl of fruit 30 minutes had passed. Once we saw other people who had arrived after us receiving food we decided to leave since we needed to get on the road. We didn’t have time for this. The breakfast experience left me flustered and let down. In conclusion, it is my opinion that it’s a well located hotel with clean bathrooms and bedsheets and friendly staff but shows serious opportunity in the breakfast department. I left feeling like yea the hotel was clean and easy to use but the money wasn’t worth the stay when you add the price and experience of dining. Can I leave and eat somewhere else? Yes but at that point your just an overpriced motel 6 that doesn’t include breakfast.
Great hotel near Moda Center and Convention Center. I've stayed here 3 times now, twice for events at Moda, and one for Portland Retro Gaming Expo. It's a great location in walking distance from those venues. It's a pretty short walk from the MAX, and right next to the streetcar. There are a good number of restaurants in walking distance, including some fast food if you're in a hurry or on a budget. The rooms here are quite nice. It seems like they've been renovated, they feel clean and modern. The hotel may look old on the outside, but the inside is very well taken care of. The rooms have enough space to spread out a little. Beds are comfy, no issues with the bathroom. There's a fridge and microwave which are nice to have. TV and wifi work well, and no issues using the HDMI on the TV. Parking is easy and fairly priced. Just park in a spot, and put the parking pass in your dash after you check in. I've heard some people say the lots can fill up, but I didn't have that problem. Super easy to get to and from I-5 as well. The area around the hotel is maybe not the nicest neighborhood, but I've never felt unsafe walking around the area, so it doesn't bother me. This hotel is one of my go tos in this area of Portland. It gets all the basics right, and I think is competitively priced.
